CAMERA TRUCK
Credits
I rent the truck primarily to independent features. It is perfect for one to two camera packages but has carried far more than that. Since the shelves can be adjusted camera and sound can arrange the truck to accommodate most packages.
When it’s not on a feature it has worked several commercials. I worked with it myself on an Industrial Light and Magic commercial and an RSA commercial. On commercials it especially saves money with company moves. Carts can remain built saving assistants enough time per move that any producer can see savings in overtime at the end of the day. It makes life easier for assistants as there is a dedicated dark room, there are lights after the electricians' leave and enough space to load up while the loader is wrapping film out. Nothing is a bigger waste of time and money than a loader having to drag everything out of the truck to wrap out so the equipment can be loaded or waiting to load a truck for the loader to finish with film. When there is organization and consistency things don’t get lost or broken thus saving you money in the end.
No need to hold a mag light in your mouth because the sun is down and the electricians have bolted. The battery run lights afford assistants a civilized wrap even when you’re the last ones left in a field on a mountainside.
The lift gate is another keeper. It is wide and SOLID. It’s a Tommy-gate. Two carts can fit side by side, no using your foot as a stop because the gate will dip in mid-rise. The gate stays level is easy to operate alone and will go higher than dock loading height which can come in very handy when keeping carts built and loading into some buildings.
This truck was built for assistants by an assistant. It also benefits producers who can appreciate how efficiency can save them money.
